Light vs Dark
One day, my wife, Ruchi, applied a light pink lipstick.
Our then-4-year-old daughter, Uzma said, “Mummy, please apply a light lipstick.”
Ruchi told her that it was a light shade.
Uzma replied, “No, this is dark. Please apply a light one.”
This argument went on and on.
Until it struck us.
For Uzma, light meant brightness and dark meant darkness.
So light lipstick meant a BRIGHT lipstick.
And dark lipstick meant a dim colour.
Same words, different meanings!
And I realised, that's what happens to us in life!
We listen to the words of others, assuming the meaning that we attach to them.
We listen to the words of others, without trying to understand what the words mean to them.
We listen to the words of others, to form an impression that we believe in. Not the meaning they wish to communicate.
Same words, different meanings.

3 questions I ask every successful person I meet What do you do in your free time? What tasks/activities make you forget about time? What problems do you enjoy solving the most? First, who do I find successful? Anyone who is in control of their life. Anyone who owns their time, peace, and work more than others controlling their time, peace, or work. As you will notice, this definition isn't about money, title, or fame. By this definition, many people who might not be called successful on...
We think we know who we are, but we don't Let me ask you the most important question of all time:Who are you? Well, you could reply - I am my name. But then, if I change your name, does that change you? Not quite. So then, who are you? Well, you could say - I am my body. But then, if I cut your hands or gave you a liver transplant, would that change you? Not quite (and not that I would cut your hands, Thakur!) So then, who are you? Well, you could say - I am my family, friends, and...
It is not about just one skill The most frequent remark I hear about career is, "Ankur, I am not good at anything." "They are good at coding. I am not.""They are good at public speaking. I am not.""They are good at editing. I am not.""They are good at sales. I am not." That is a limiting way of looking at one's career. You see, there are two ways of building an epic career. One way is to become the best at what you do. The top 1% or 5%. Most of us think that this is the only way to build an...
