I am confused

Stop lying to yourself

I received an email this morning.
8 years of work experience.
Has 2 job offers.
Confused which one to choose.

In his words, both offers are the same.
Same CTC.
Same brand value.
Same stability.
Same location.

Here is what I replied:
If both are the same, then you would have just tossed a coin, no?
Clearly, both are not the same.

#1 Stop lying to yourself.
It is the biggest reason why we make terrible decisions.
We are dishonest with our own selves.

#2 Answer honestly, which option do you prefer?
Do not think of what you should do or what is the right thing to do.
Ask yourself - what do you WANT TO DO?

#3 Given your preferred option, what’s the hesitation?
What is troubling you?
What are your fears?
What are your concerns?
Solve for those.
That is the most important thing.
Everything else is a distraction.

Solve for what comes in your way of doing what you want to do!

Vote for Make Epic Money

Make Epic Money has been nominated for Book of the Year by Crossword in the Business & Management category. It would mean a lot to me if you decided to vote for it :)

Book I am reading this week

Still reading Accelerating India's Development: A State-Led Roadmap for Effective Governance by Karthik Muralidharan. Loving it. So many ideas floating in my head as I am reading the book.
Also, very simply written, which is not so often when it comes to books written by academics.

My 3rd book, Make Epic Money, has sold 1,35,000+ copies in India with a 4.4+ rating. You can buy it in Hindi, English, Marathi, Audio, and Kindle here.
The book has also been converted into a video course (in Hindi and English) - that you can check out here.

Here is an alphabetical list of all books I have shared in this newsletter so far.

Question of the week

Do you think your career/industry will still be there 10 years from now?

  • 100% it will still be there
  • Likely that it will be there
  • Not likely it will still be there
  • Definitely going to vanish in 10 years

(and see the results of others, too)

Results of last week's question

As expected - people from the younger generation relate to SRK more and people older relate to AB more.
We basically relate to what we experienced during our growing years a lot more. That's why our fav songs, movies, singers, and actors tend to be from that time.

My response?
I also personally feel that SRK is a bigger superstar than AB, while AB is a better actor than SRK :))

3-2-1

3 pics from last week

Had an awesome 2025 planning workshop in Mumbai for WebVeda with the team.

We are organizing a sports Olympics in our housing society. Our tower won the cricket bronze medal, haha :))

Had a fab time with the CII IWN Delhi Chapter last evening. Insanely high energy :))

2 quotes I wish to share

Social media amplifies the bad.
Real life tells you it’s not that bad.

Who and what you spend time with determines the emotions you will spend time with.

1 new thing I learnt this week

There is a path between Europe and the USA called the Jet Stream, which is like a highway for planes. Almost all planes travelling from Europe to the USA, and vice versa, fly on this patch itself because of the strong air currents, which give the airplanes a drift. The winds are from NY to Europe, and that's why flying from NY to (say) London takes a shorter duration than flying from London to NY.

Life is a jigsaw puzzle I received an email yesterday:Had trouble sleeping. Couldn't shut down the brain. Tried acknowledging her emotions, and speaking to her family, yet couldn't seem to figure out what was keeping her up. I asked her what usually occupies her mind. Job search, loan, shaadi-related talks, where to settle conversation - move back to India or stay in the States a little longer. It’s hard to pick priorities in life because we have limited time like personal health, career;...

Stay away from these 3 kinds of people 1/ Those who make fun of your insecurities and when you are hurt, they tell you that you are too sensitive. 2/ Those who do not contribute to the relationship, but expect you to be invested and engaged in the relationship. 3/ Those who dismiss your success as luck or destiny and never acknowledge your hard work or capability. We may not always get to choose our relationships. But the worst tragedy is to choose the wrong ones, despite knowing they are...

The victim mindset Received an email from a 21-year-old.Well-to-do family. But parents didn't allow her to venture out much. She agreed. She only studied. Took science when she didn't want to. Worked hard. Got through a Canadian university. Went for Comp Sc but changed majors to Business without informing her parents. Now - she is scared of what will happen to her life. Her email ended with, "I'll be fine because I always do. But the thing is, who do I blame?" We exchanged a few emails, and I...
